Getting in touch
Email support@jimmylstudio.com. It's one person, so a short description of what happened saves a round trip:
- Your device and iOS version
- What you were doing when it went wrong
- What you expected instead
Screenshots help more than anything else, especially for anything involving the live scoreboard or the court display.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no password and no email address to give. Sessions are stored on your device and everything except the live scoreboard works with no internet connection at all.
How do spectators watch the scoreboard?
Tap Go Live and the session gets a join code in the form BM-1234, shown with a QR code you can share. Anyone with the app opens the Watch tab and enters that code. They see standings and scores only, and cannot change anything.
Go Live says it can't publish
The live scoreboard uses iCloud to host the read-only board, so the device needs to be signed into iCloud and online. Check Settings, then your name at the top of the iOS settings list.
Everything else in the app keeps working without it — the schedule, scoring, standings and exports never need a connection.
The court display won't open on my tablet
The court display is served by your phone over your own Wi-Fi, so both devices must be on the same network and the app must stay open on the phone. If the phone locks or the app is closed, the page stops loading.
Guest networks and networks with client isolation turned on — common in sports halls — block devices from reaching each other, and the display cannot work on them. A personal hotspot from the phone running the app is the reliable fallback.
The page is deliberately plain HTML, so a decade-old tablet or laptop can show it even when it is too old to run the app itself.
Why does it ask for local network access?
Only for the court display. Granting it lets your phone serve the scoreboard page to another device on your Wi-Fi. Nothing is sent to the internet by it, and declining leaves every other feature intact.
Someone arrived late or left early — is the ranking still fair?
Switch Standings from Win-Loss to Win%. That ranks by win rate and breaks ties on average point difference per game, so a player who managed three games isn't ranked below someone who played eight. The P column always shows how many games each person played.
Someone swapped in halfway through
Swipe a game to the right, or press and hold it, and choose Players to change who is on each side. Add game manually covers anything the rotation didn't schedule — a challenge match, or a game two latecomers played on the side.
In a rotating-partners session you can also remove the last round and generate it again once the right people are in the list.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Export a session as JSON, which imports back into the app with the games intact, or as CSV for a spreadsheet. The results card — champion, final table and every score — exports as an image for a group chat.
What happens when I delete a session?
It is removed from your device. If it had been published with Go Live, the published copy and every player name in it are deleted as well.
Can I use the app in 繁體中文?
Yes — Settings, then Language. Most of the interface switches straight away; a few system-managed areas such as tab titles update the next time you open the app.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 and later. On Mac it runs the iPad app, which needs Apple silicon and macOS 11 or later; Intel Macs are not supported.
Older tablets that can't run the app can still be used as a court display, since that is an ordinary web page.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Every feature is free, there are no adverts and there is nothing to buy inside the app.
Still stuck?
Email support@jimmylstudio.com. Feature requests are welcome too — most of what the app does now started as somebody's Thursday-night problem. The privacy policy covers what the app stores and when any of it leaves your device.
